New SSD bring compact designs at reasonable prices The Panasonic HDC-SD10 and HDC-TM10 are two new HD camcorders claiming to be the lightest on the market. The camcorders weight in at about ½ a lb. Both camcorders use SDHC/SD memory cards for media, while the HDC-TM10 included 8 GB of built in memory. Both cameras have 16x optical zoom and 1920 x 1080 resolution. Both cameras come equipped with stereo audio. "We recognize that users are looking for camcorders that capture high-quality, High Definition video, but they also want something lightweight that has advanced, yet easy-to-use functions," said Chuck Kirkman, Senior Product Manager, Imaging, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company. "With the SD10 and TM10, we've made it easier to record HD video with features such as Advanced O.I.S., Face Detection, Intelligent Scene Selector and the Pre-Rec function, all which maximize shooting results and minimize common issues like blurring." Both cameras will be available in September. The HDC-SD10 will have a suggested retail price of $549.95, and the HDC-TM10 $599.95.
