As iOS 6 nears, it appears Apple is scaling back device restrictions for some iOS 6 features. As Mac Rumors notes, two footnotes were removed from Apple's iOS 6 preview page, which indicates features will be available the older iPhone 3GS. The notes removed:
- Shared Photo Streams requires iOS 6 on iPhone 4 or later or iPad 2 or later, or a Mac computer with OS X Mountain Lion. An up-to-date browser is required for accessing shared photo streams on the web.
- VIP list and VIP and Flagged smart mailboxes will be available on iPhone 4 or later and iPad 2 or later.
Considering Apple is still selling the 3GS as the most discounted iPhone, the more features Apple decides to make available the better for customers.
