Earlier this year Other World Computing announced the Accelsior SSD upgrade. The storage solutions is a bootable 6Gb/sec SSD array on a PCIe card. The upgrade is available on Mac Pros, PCs, and Hackintosh systems and contains two removable SSD blades for storage. Wednesday OWC announced a similar upgrade, but uses the more common 50mm mSATA SSD products.
The AccelsiorM is a PCIe 2.0 x1, 3Gb/sec product with speeds up to 380 MB/sec. That's not as fast as the Accelsior, but this is more of a budget friendly option. OWC is currently selling the stand-alone card for $33.97 and can be equipped with up to 960 GB.
