HBO President & COO Kessler announced Tuesday that its HBO Go app will enable AirPlay streaming. The update will unlock the feature, which will allow, for example, the ability to play HBO content onto an Apple TV. Up to now HBO subscribers could only view on-demand content on the iOS device itself.
HBO Go offers a large library of HBO original programming, in addition to current movies. It requires an HBO subscription on a participating cable provider.
Kessler also said there are plans in the works to bring HBO Go to the Apple TV itself.
